Butiiti Centenary Secondary School is a mixed day school established by Fort Portal Catholic Diocese with an objective of supporting the region’s development initiative through education. The School is located 43km from Fort Portal along Kampala road. It was hit by lightening two years ago; this catastrophe led to the destruction of the roof of the building which serves as the office and two classrooms. The effects of this catastrophe coupled with limited support from government and other development partners became a challenge to the school that needed ample teaching space for the children.
OBAAT successfully transformed the dilapidated building whose roof was destroyed by storm and thunder into a modern, bright structure that will serve generations to come. The block is also fitted with water harvesting system; two tanks stocking 3,000 litres of water each, offering a new source of water to the school.
